The Christmas period in Costa Blanca is one of fun, sunshine, full Christmas cheer. We certainly do not miss out on the fun in Spain. The bars and restaurants are full of people enjoying the festivities. Most of us enjoy this time of year to reflect on our year in business, close the financial year off (31st of December), and indulge just like everyone else in the excesses of food, wine, and cheer. This financial year has been an absolute success for most of us in the area, the Real Estate business saw a huge boom in the market and the need for products has been in high demand. With the Real Estate sector enjoying a huge increase in sales, this is seen in other sectors as they benefit from new clientele, not to mention the Tax office with their 10% purchase tax. All in all, Spain on the Coast can´t possibly be having a hard time financially. This year´s Christmas festivities are enjoying a breath of fresh air in relation to Covid, and hopefully, at less than 2 weeks to go, we will not see any bar-restaurant restrictions due to covid increases in the area. Fingers crossed on this last comment!

We very much wish to give you a Merry Christmas and a very much Happy New Year 2022, may this bring you a new home, a new life in the Costa Blanca North area or simply an enjoyment of the existing one you have here. Either way, may I remind you politely that this is a predominantly Catholic country and that Christmas is enjoyed from the 24th of December evening through to the 07th of January morning, hence the Three Kings are on the 6th of January, so enjoy, relax and spend time with the family and getting to know the area. You will find most businesses (not entertaining venues) will be closed during these dates.
